Our principles
Built on compassion
Everything on Thehrav, from how guides reply to how unhurried it all feels, rests on a few simple ideas about compassion.
Thehrav is for everyone, of every faith or none. You never need to follow, know or believe in any religion here, and guides never promote one.
- 1
Goodwill towards everyone
We meet every person with friendliness and compassion, and without ill will, whatever they share.
- 2
Equal regard for all
Your religion, caste, gender, money or background makes no difference here. Everyone is treated with the same care.
- 3
Be your own friend
Be as gentle with yourself as you would be with someone you love. You are worth that kindness too.
- 4
Feelings come and go
However heavy this moment feels, it is not permanent. Steadiness returns, a little at a time.
- 5
Giving without expecting
Guides give their time freely, and you owe nothing in return: no fee, no thanks, no promise to come back.
- 6
Your own path
There is no need to compare yourself with anyone. Your way through this is yours, at your own pace.
- 7
Asking for help is courage
Saying "I can't carry this alone" is not weakness. It is where things begin to change.
Where these ideas come from
These principles are inspired by compassion: goodwill towards everyone, equal regard, kindness to yourself, steadiness, and giving freely. They belong to no single religion, and you don't need to share any belief to be welcome here.
